Intermediate/Senior Architectural Technologist

We are seeking experienced Intermediate/Senior Architectural Technologists to join our team. The ideal candidate understands the beauty of detail and appreciates the technical complexity behind project delivery. In this role, you'll provide technical leadership across all phases of a project, from technical analysis and detailing to site reviews for compliance. You'll work closely with our design team to develop concepts, share ideas, and see projects through to completion.

This position is best suited for motivated team members, wanting to be involved in every stage of the building process and enjoy participating in the collaborative studio environment that we have to offer.

We are looking for an experienced team member (ideally 7+ years) who has previously worked in an architectural firm, is seeking more responsibilities, and the potential to apply their knowledge and experience on engaging and challenging projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the architectural and consulting teams to create detailed designs, presentations, and project documentation

  • Prepare sketches, 3D models, and CAD drawings/working drawings, including technical details

  • Apply your knowledge of building codes, by-laws, space planning, and sustainable design solutions to projects

  • Contribute to the preparation of project reports and specifications

  • Review project deliverables, including code assessments, cost estimates, and lessons learned for continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Advanced technical skills and the ability to coordinate and produce working drawings

  • In-depth knowledge of the National Building Code - Alberta Edition (BC Code knowledge is an asset)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
    (experience in Rhino, SketchUp, 3D Max, and Adobe CS Suite is an asset)

  • Continuous interest in evolving building technology and systems, and the ability to communicate your insights to the team

  • Understanding of basic engineering systems for effective project coordination

  • Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
